I know this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a thread when I searched. I know lots of times shows cancel their saturday performances, but are people ever out of their shows on tony days? Any examples of it in the past? Thanks!

Shows rarely cancel Sunday performances for the Tonys, and 95% of the time, everyone is in.
I saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels the day of the Tonys and everyone was in. Norbert even made a joke about needing to get to the awards on time during the standing ovation for "Dirty Rotten Number". They even all came out at the stagedoor too. They were just all in a rush and could only sign a few things and run.

Wicked is the only show that comes to mind that canceled in the past years.
Everyone was in when I saw Drowsy Chaperone on Tony Sunday last year.

I dont think its bad when shows cancel, its nice for the stars to be able to have a day off to relax.
If Patti LuPone can do a Sunday matinee the day of the Tonys, everyone better do one.
She didn't come out after, but everyone else did, and there were only about 8 people at the stagedoor, so they signed stuff for all of us.

^ I love that signature
yeah, the only one I remember is Wicked. But I always thought there were understudies. That's pretty cool though.

They get a day to relax, so why would they need an extra day just because they are nominated at the Tony's? Performing is, after all, their job!
