re: Stephanie J. Block On Perez

The comments for that post are seriously pissing me off. They obviously don't know talent. Are they seriously writing that Stephanie should listen to IDOL and not do a song unless she can make it bigger and better? Who the hell do they think they are?

Gets me so mad...

re: Stephanie J. Block On Perez

The people who comment on his blog are the ones that called Gavin Creel ugly when Perez featured him a while ago.

...they're also the ones who won't be buying a Broadway ticket anytime soon.

Is this song now part of the 9 to 5 score?

No, it's going to be on Stephanie's album due out in June.

I felt like Stephanie was pulling back, so as to not overpower Dolly. I would have rather had her just do it herself.

re: Stephanie J. Block On Perez

The whole concept of Stephanie's album is that the composer of each song performs with her in some way, be it with backup vocals or piano accompaniment, or whatever. She asked Dolly to be on her album, and Dolly suggested that they do this song.

I too feel Steph was holding a bit back, but I think it was just to make the song more gentle.

That is a lovely, understated, subtle version. Not everything needs to be belted to the rafters to be "good." I will be purchasing this song, if not the whole album, once it's released.

The song is currently available on iTunes as a "special advance single." The album will be available online on May 12, and in stores sometime in early June.

re: Stephanie J. Block On Perez

The people who comment on Perez's posts are some of the most uneducated, small-minded people that exist. I think she sounds great, if pulling back a bit. Still, it gives the song a softer quality, which is refreshing. Not everything needs to be a show stopper. Maybe Perez is becoming more involved with Broadway now that he barely writes anything on it. Good job to his writers!

Yay Stephanie! Wish you were on a better site that I would actually visit, but any publicity is good publicity, I guess. I refuse to click on the link and add any traffic to that site, but I'll trust that you're awesome.

Your one visit won't make a bit of difference for Perez's site traffic.

Of course not, TheCharleston. I never said it would.
