Stephanie J. Block out of the tour

I read in John Garcia's column online that Stephanie is out of the tour due to injuries and that Eden is taking her place. Eden is scheduled to come to Dallas and Houston, I know that much. Anyone else know anything?

I betcha Block will be back eventually as Elphaba. Perhaps in Chicago, perhaps on Broadway, perhaps in the Tour, perhaps in a second leg of the tour. We haven't see the last of Block in green.

Um, I'm not 100% sure, but I think that's a rumor. Both Stephanie and other sources have confirmed that Stephanie will be out for San Fran and that Eden will take her place, but last I heard, that's as far as it went...

I've never heard any mention of Eden doing wicked in dallas or houston...has anyone confirmed this?

It's not a rumor...John Garcia is a big name reviewer in the Dallas area and is very well known to the Dallas theatre community. His website is www.thecolumnonline.com but you have to be a subscriber to read his articles (but not his reviews). Just email him and ask to be a subscriber, that's all. But I promise you John Garcia would not lie about this. He has a huge reputation to uphold and would never get caught spreading a rumor.

If this is true, I think I may just have a cow! as much as I was(am?) looking forward to seeing Stephanie, I would be perfectly happy to see Eden!

Woah... thats harsh for Stephanie (if its true)... she has wanted to play this role so bad... All the best to her and Eden, I love but its a tough break for Stephanie (yet again if its true)

I'm not a subscriber (although I just emailed him today) but I was with my friend, Wes (who is a subscriber), last night while he was checking the website and he had me read it from his account. But once John subscribes me I'll cut and paste it.

I know you're all thinking this is just a big rumor and yada yada yada...but John Garcia knows his stuff.

Well, I dont think its true, but yea it could be, Stephanie said she was returning to the Denver run once Eden had finished the San Francisco run; the producers of WICKED said that as well.

Yes, but this (I think) is due to recent injuries that have re-surfaced. I think this might have been sudden.

The tour cast has already played Chicago. I guess there's always the CHANCE that she could return to Wicked for the open-ended run, if there is truth to this. If it IS true, it's the curse,people! It all started with Margaret Hamilton.

My apologies, Stephanie. Your post would lead one to assume that you were unaware, but that's what I get for assuming such things. Yes, it would be great if she could return to Chicago. She is an amazing performer. Whatever happens, I've said all along that I'll see the tour with Stephanie OR Eden when it comes to St. Louis this fall. I had a gut feeling that this may happen, and I KNOW that the only way Stephanie would leave the entire tour would be on doctors' orders, because she was ecstatic about coming back to Wicked.
