So, at the stagedoor of Bway By The Year last night, I was talking to a Blockhead, who said that she'd heard that Stephanie might be joining the Wicked cast as Elphaba this July. She said that Stephanie wants to do it, but only if she can do it with Sebastian, and since they're getting married in October, it would have to be before that.
This sounds implausible to me, since it's almost July and I thought Julia Murney was contracted for another 6 months, but I was wondering if anyone had heard anything or if this is total BS.

Oh em GEE. I read your post wrong the first time and thought you were calling Stephanie a Blockead..like..making fun of her. How rude. But then I realized.

Playing opposite each other is the quickest way to spoil a relationship.
Ask J Lo and what's his name.
That said, I would love to see Stephanie in that role she actually created.

It was probably a rumor - someone who thought she know what she was talking about.
Julia is contracted through October and I don't see why she would suddenly leave unless something important came up.

There was an "Ask a Star" feature on Broadway.com where Stephanie said she wouldn't mind playing opposite Sebastian, but who knows?

It's in October. She talks a lot about her wedding and Sebastian on her interview with Jim Caruso for Here! On Broadway.
