I know this article was already posted today, but I wanted to point out how funny a certain paragraph was. The article claims that
"All three women have ties to the musical: (Glenn) Close played the role in Los Angeles and on Broadway; (Barbara) Streisand was the first to record the show's anthems "With One Look" and "As If We Never Said Goodbye"; and (Meryl) Streep was among the small audience at Lloyd Webber's Sydmonton estate, where the workshop of Sunset Boulevard — starring Patti LuPone — was originally presented."
So, let me get this straight, Meryl Streep has ties to this musical because she saw it?? What Journalism! Andrew Gans you deserve an award for tieing all three women to the show.
Hey you know what? I'm next in line to play Melchior in Spring Awakening because I saw it.

Posted: 8/6/07 at 6:07pmFor you youngsters out there.. Meryl Streep was (thought) to be in the running for the role of Norma Desmond in the West End, but once Miss Patti performed the role, the race was bscially over. Meryl lost out to Patti LuPone for "Evita" and "Sunset Boulevard." RC in Austin, Texas.. t.o.p.l.f.

Posted: 8/6/07 at 6:13pmI want Glen Close to do it. If Streisand gets it, I won't be seeing it in a theater. I will wait and rent it through Netflix!
