I'm looking for both sides of the spectrum - laugh out loud and very serious. I'm interested in looking into Medea (I've never read it but I think it could provide a possible scene.
It's a male/female scene - I'm looking for possibly a classical piece but, more importantly, scenes that are extremely successful with what they are trying to achieve. I appreciate any help. Take care!
I don't know much classical theatre. If you are willing to shift to contemporary, the opening scene of Beyond Therapy is a good, strong scene. It's a comedy written by Christopher Durang.
If you want classical Greek drama you can't really go wrong with picking any scene from Sophocles' "Oedipus."
Male/Female scenes - just about any scene with Oedipus and Jocasta should do it.
The confrontation scene at the end of Doubt. Probably one of the most intense scenes I have witnessed in a theatre.
