Curious if there are any shows currently playing that are desperate to fill a seat ..that are not strict to their student rush policy? Or is it such a theatre policy that they must be 100% firm in enforcement when issuing tickets.

Student rush is the same as regular rush. Except you don't have to be a student at a regular rush.

to clarify....not all places offer STUDENT rush. Some have an open rush or lottery that do not require student id. But MOST do require to see the id on a pretty regular basis that claim a STUDENT rush.

(And it's summmer...most shows are doing fairly well.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Right..I realize that. I'm talking about shows like Shrek or Blithe Spirit that offer only student rush(not general rush). Before curtain..they are filled 65% and I am at the box office and just ask for a rush ticket (notice I din't say student)..would they sell one just to fill a seat. On Thursdays, there is only a $5 difference between balcony and student rush at Shrek. I would gladly pay the same amount but if the rush ticket is better why sit at the top of the balcony.

Oh I see what you mean.
Well I found another thread about Shrek rush through a search.

I read on another thread a while ago (I couldn't find it) that if you at least look like a student or have your backpack or books they will give you the tickets.

I hope this helped.

It depends on the show, and the person working the box office, but it seems like I'm hardly ever asked to show ID when I do student rush. But, I look college-aged, that may not happen if someone older rushes.

While I haven't seen anything this summer, I also rarely get asked to show ID, although I also definitely look college or high school aged and usually have a backpack on my trips. But it really depends on the person working there. I guess you could try it if you look under 22, but have a back up plan.

Next to Normal is a general rush, I believe. There was some controversy early on about that, but they made it clear afterwards that the rush isn't for students only.
