I am going to Las Vegas from next Friday to Monday and I wanted to know what Broadway show there should I see. I was thinking maybe Mamma Mia! but I want to hear what you all should suggest! :)

I would see LOVE or O.
When in Vegas do Vegas...when in NYC do Bway. I did see Avenue Q in Vegas and it was great...but where can you see shows like LOVE or O?

not love... see O or KA, they are single handedly the two best shows playing in vegas right now
EDIT:
FYI, its prob gonna be EXTREMELY difficult to get tickets for either of those shows at last minute... last i heard O was sold out six weeks in advanced...
if you cant get in to either of those, then all the other cirque shows are great...
Le Reve is at the Wynn, and another show on water (similar to O at the Bellagio)
or LOVE is the Cirque set to the Music of the Beatles, Zumanity is the more sensual sexual side of cirque, at the New York New York, Mystere is one of the originals, at Treasure Island, and KA is at the MGM.
If you are stuck on seeing a musical, then A NEW DAY, the Celine Dion show is supposed to be amazing.
Save the broadway shows for broadway... much better there.
OHHH, but wait! PHANTOM: The Vegas Spectacular is supposed to be unbelieveable!!!! Its at the Venetian, and im planning a vegas trip to see it (as well as KA, Zumanity, and Mystere or Lereve)
see phantom!

I didn't think Phantom was all that exciting. But it was nice to see it at a shorter length.
See Ka or O. They are amazing. Danny Gans is also a really fun show and totally worth the money.
I agree with seeing the broadway musicals on Broadway. I live in Vegas and I much prefer NY.
My boyfriend and I live in Las Vegas, too, and we love love LOVE LE REVE. Some great music, wonderful story, great dancing and HOT HOT GUYS!
I think the story works better with a female lead, but sometimes there's a guy that plays the "Dreamer".
Where do you plan on eating at? If you see LE REVE, you have to check out the Terrace Point Cafe. They're both at the Wynn. The cafe's prices are a little pricey, but the food is excellent. I've never had a bad meal.
Also, Olives, at the Bellagio, is great. Ivan and I go there on our anniversary.
Check out Tix4Less for cheap tickets. I know they have Phantom and all the Cirque tickets. I don't think Celine offers them.
I think Phantom works much better in Las Vegas than anywhere else I've ever seen it. I found the last scene where Christine kisses the Phantom to be very moving, and this never did much for me in the Broadway and national tour full versions. It's as if all the fluff has been removed and only the core of the story remains.
The Las Vegas Phantom looks and sounds incredible, and besides I think you'll be able to get a ticket.
Phantom is pretty awesome all right.
I can't decide!! I am going to see Oscar DeLa Hoya fight and we are going to do some sight-seeing like @ M&M's World and the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory, Wax Museum, etc. I really, maybe, want to try to see Spamalot.
oh gosh, M&M world...A few years ago when I was visiting my sister, I ended up getting really drunk one night and my friend and I ended up there, and I somehow stole about 7 lbs of pink M&Ms from the dispensers. I had no recollection of it, but apparantly I put my bag under the dispensers in front of everyone there and just let the thing rip, and all the M&Ms came cascading down into my bag.
I guess it's not really funny now that I've written it down, but at the time I thought it was.
Anyway, yes, against my better judgement, I really loved Phantom. It was so great and very Vegas. They even have fireworks and actors running up the aisles and out the exit door and at one point the phantom hangs from the chandelier, lol. If you have a student id orchestra/mezz tickets are only $42 too. It's the best deal in Vegas.

This is slightly off topic but is there a sight or thread that lists what exactly was changed and cut from Phantom?
Celine Dion's Final year in Vegas!
Not to be missed:
The Liberace Museum, even though it's not a Broadway musical.

The most fabulous museum in the world!

THE PRODUCERS!
See Broadway shows in NYC. Get off the strip and explore. Take a side trip to the Valley of Fire. One word, BEAUTIFUL.
You would be much better off seeing The Producers in NY than Las Vegas, even if all that's left in NY at the moment is a few sets being loaded out.
Another non-Broadway recommendation. Get a 24 hour ticket for "The Duece", a double decker bus that goes up and down the strip. Take it all the way to the Downtown Fremont St. stop after 7 pm, and watch the 3 block long overhead video display in the enclosed "Fremont St experience." Afterwards you can get a deep-fried twinkie at one of the nearby casinos.
Now that's experiencing Las Vegas.
Edit: I just read on ATC Vegas that David Hasselfhof is going to be at The Producers Vegas until May 6th. It is worth going to see his take on Roger Debris, especially since I think you'll find these tickets even easier to get than Phantom. Do you know about the half price ticket booths in Vegas?
See Broadway in NYC and don't waste time seeing a musical in Vegas. See the one of a kind shows. I would suggest "O", Zumanity or Celine Dion. I loved all three. Celine is in her last year and she really can't be beat if you love thrilling vocals. Not a bad seat in the house and with the projection screens you don't miss any of her expressions. Zumanity is hot and the dancing can't be beat. Those dancers are phenomenal. O is filled with some of the most amazing sights you will ever see on a stage or in a pool. :) Have a great trip. Be sure to hit a spa and get a massage.
Catch Big Elvis at Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon (formerly Barbary Coast).
Eat at the buffet at the Flamingo hotel. Its really good for the price. Not too pricey either. We just got back from Vegas and we saw Spamalot, I am not a fan of John O'Hurley at all but I must admit he was quite funny in the role. It was worth the money. The rest of the cast were very entertaining also. Check it out.
As someone who lives in Vegas as well. I suggest Zumanity. I personally think it as one of the best cirque shows. Plus it's probably the most erotic thing I have seen with no nudity. Also it's not that hard to get tickets for.
I also recommend an old vegas type show, the follies bergere or jubilee, where they sink the titanic. Any show with showgirls and magicians is definitly the vegas experience.
As for restaurants, if you like Mexican highly recommend The Pink Taco at the hard rock, amazing food and margeritas. Also the decor is fantastic. Don't let the name fool you.
I've heard that Jubilee is fun and well maintained, but I saw Follies Bergere last year and it was pathetic in every way. (They couldn't even afford shirts for most of the chorus girls!) Special honors go to the absolutely cheesiest, crappiest canned music I've ever heard. If you're going to replace a live band with a tape why not spend a few hundred bucks to have some vaguely listenable sequences recorded?
I would have to agree with KA, it is such an amazing, unique theatre experience!!
I was just in Vegas LAST weekend, and I actually didn't end up seeing any shows (there's just so much to do)! BUT, had I had the time to see one, I certainly would have seen a Cirque Du Soleil, as we don't normally have that here in NY and it's something different.
I was in Las Vegas in January and saw Phantom, Mamma Mia, Mystere and Celine's A New Day. My number one recommendation would definitely be to see Celine. She's absolutely amazing. I'd also recommend seeing a Cirque show. Mystere is great, but I heard that O is better. If they're sold out, try getting cancellation tickets a couple of hours before the show. Phantom is not so special (it's just shorter and the tempo is faster), but the theater is gorgeous and worth the price of the ticket alone.
If you can get tickets - definitely see KA! I just saw it a few weeks back, and it was one of the most brilliant theatrical productions I've seen in a while! I'd also suggest "Phantom", just because of how elaborate evverything is! Have fun!
