Although SITP is a work of art- Dolly would have probably won anyway- just as Channing won the Tony over Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl- Hello, Dolly is just an unstoppable steamroller on Broadway

Hello Dolly! would have still won but Ben Platt would have more competition for Best Actor in a Musical if Jake were eligible.

I haven't seen Dolly but based just on word of mouth that seems to be a clear winner. I was disappointed with Sunday (one of my favorite shows!). Most of it left my mind as soon as I was out of the theater, but I know I'm in the minority.
