YAAAY!!!!!!
Audra, please! Audra!
After hearing O'Hara's performance as Dot, I will be devastated if she gets the role.

It's nearly a year away, but there's a possibility I could see the first preview. I have midterms that day (they're the same week every year) and they end around 11:30am, giving me plenty of time to get to NY before an 8pm show.
I'm so excited!

Posted: 2/23/07 at 1:34pmI love the people on the recording, but the Dots aren't the same, are they? Is the current Dot better than the recording Dot?

What are you talkin about LuPonatic?
When the show opened in Menier, it opened with Daniel Evans as Georges & the wonderful Anna Jane Casey as Dot. When the show transferred, Anna Jane Casey did not sign on to transfer with the show, instead she joined the UK Tour of Mack & Mabel. Then Jenna Russell signed on the role of Dot, when she was still in Guys & Dolls. She was in rehersals in the day and back to Guys & Dolls at night - TIRING I bet! Anyway, they recorded a recording of the show before the show even opened at the Wyndhams. I think it was a huge challenge for Jenna since she haven't even done the role yet and as I recall clearly, she has only been in rehersals for 3 wks the time she recorded the CD. The recording was stil BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL! I saw the production @ the Wyndhams and LOVED it, sat in the first row w/ the Day tkt they offered for £15 and the experience cud not have been more beautiful and touchin!
It was sad to see the show close, but with success and get so many nominations and most important of all winning the main musical awards in the Oliviers this year!

Audra doesn't seem like she'll fit with this production AT ALL.
I want Russell! Really hoping for her to transfer.

Posted: 2/23/07 at 6:10pmI'm obviously biased but I'd love for Jane Krakowski to play the role (as I've said a trillion times in the trillion different threads on the topic); however, Russell very much deserves to make her Broadway debut in this role and she sounds magnificent in the cast recording, it'd be a pleasure to see her play Dot live.
