well, sumofallthings, i disagree. almost any auditor will say "NEVER EVER DO MEMORY FROM CATS". This has been a rule for auditions in many a case for me, althought I am a man...:)
no to that.
Another Hundred People from Company shows off quick diction necessary for Dot's opening song.
Losing my Mind shows off the darker quality of your voice, which is necessary for a few of Dot/Georges' songs.
just a few that popped up, but i will keep thinking.

Don't do "On My Own" from Les Miz too; it's too overdone, and usually by amateurs who don't know a good audition number from an inappropriate one.
I'd say do a Sondheim number that demonstrates your ability to emote, without being melodramatic.

Posted: 8/7/04 at 6:29pmDo NOT by any means go with "Another Hundred People". That's way too difficult to pull off in an audition, you'll race because of your nerves, the song is murder for the accompanist... just a bad idea all around. Anyone Can Whistle happens to have some good songs for women with limited range, so both "Anyone Can Whistle" and "A Parade In Town" might work.

Posted: 8/7/04 at 6:34pmWell my masters of the sarcastic nuance, perhaps you should realize that I put numbers that would be detested by all auditors.

Posted: 8/7/04 at 9:20pmWell, that's not very nice. The girl has an audition to do.

I got it, sumofallthings. But I wanted to make sure she didn't actually take you seriously...
HA. "seriously" and "sumofallthings" in the same thought.
BAAAHAAAAHHAA
love ya, doll.
