Ha, in the Dallas Theater Center production last year, it was way more than 20 seconds. And instead of just standing there and singing nude, there was actual choreography. It was actually really beautiful.
Pal Joey. 1940. “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered.” Mmmmmm... Original lyrics? Pushing the envelope is not new. We should be used to it. Bring it on!
One year I did Rocky Horror, a mother brought her approximately seven-year-old daughter to the show, with the daughter cosplaying as Janet in her wedding-guest outfit. I was doing audience participation banter with the Narrator during his first monologue, and immediately started improvising lines about "the dumb f***ing b***h who brought a f***ing CHILD to Rocky F***ing Horror." She got the picture and took the child away before the raunchy parts started. I got a standing ovation and a "thank you" from the director.
