With Tony nominations being announced next week, I'm curious to hear from you guys what you thought were some of the most surprising Tony nominees you ever witnessed. Like what were some things you did not think were going to be nominated, but were to your surprise?

I was surprised that Bridges of Madison County did not get a Best Musical nod, and that Pasquale didn't get one for Best Actor. Two years later and I'm still appalled.

Book of Mormon for costume design was surprising and odd.

The kid who played Michael in Billy Elliot was a huge surprise.

Leap of Faith for best musical. No other nominations. How can that be? Surely, if its being considered BEST musical, something else needed to get noticed...set? costumes? performer??? SOMETHING.

Last year, Matthew Beard riding the Skylight wave to a Featured Actor nomination. The character he played is barely in the show, and his performance was not particularly memorable.

Last year when Jill Paice was the only one of the main cast of an American in Paris to not be nominated was pretty shocking. I thought she was the standout of the show. But that category was stacked.

Also, Lisa O'Hare not getting a nomination for her performance in GGLAM. 2014 left out a lot.

Some nominations that surprised me last year were Bright Star for Best Musical and Best Book, A View From the Bridge for Best Scenic Design of a Play, and King Charles III for Best Costume Design of a Play.

I was pleasantly surprised by Laura's nomination for Bonnie and Clyde.
