This isn't happening, so don't get hopes up. BUT she would be perfect for the role. The music is amazing and should become a broadway show soon.

I really wish posters would stop composing headings as if it were fact. At least place a question mark after the statement if you have no factual information to share. It gets really tiring after a while.

Ahhhhhh......memories.

I adapted Anastasia (the animated feature with the voice of Meg Ryan) once at a summer camp I worked at. This was a great show and I could certainly see Sutton doing it....what brilliant ...yet obvious....casting!

i really want to see this show on broadway. it's one of my favorite animated films. i'd take any powerhouse voice

mikewood, you know that adapting shows like Wicked with no rights available is illegal, right? I have no idea about the legalities of Anastasia, but with Wicked you can be fined.
Just so you know.

Anyway, Sutton would be perfect as Anastasia. It's my favorite animated movie ever. I can just hear her singing those songs.

Lea Salonga actually didn't do the singing voice of Anastasia -- that was Liz Callaway!

Though Anastasia is a great story I don't see the point in turning it into a stage show. After they proved that the remains of the royal child that were found some years ago actually were those of the princess Anastacia the story sort of lost its point.

ooh I love this movie! I made a post a while back that this should be a movie. We should write a letter to Ahrens and Flaherty since they wrote the score. I think Sutton would make a great Anya/Anastasia! bernadette could reprise her role as Sophie! I think Gavin Creel would make a great Dimitri!

Bernadette as Sophie in the stage musical? Not unless they seriously rewrite the character or Bernadette would have to pack on about 200 pounds. The creators of the movie said that Sophie was the only main character that was not physically modeled at all after the actor playing the voice.

But anyway, the movie Anastasia is all wrong. The history is inaccurate, still, I love the movie, but Rasputin is too creepy for children.

Gavin Creel! He is the one I actually thought of to play the role right away. He's perfect!
