First!
Will this be another epic Roundabout disaster?
Will this be another epic Roundabout disaster?
Yes.
There goes that Law & Order:SVU guest star taking jobs away from theater people. Silly cow.
This should be... interesting.
Gavin Creel for Billy, please.
Hopefully Marshall will redeem herself from the dreadful Grease. Although who are we kidding. This is Roundabout.
I am really excited but feel like I shouldn't get my hopes up.
But I'm still going to be excited anyways! I'm assuming this will go into the Sondheim?
Can't wait!
Vegas oddsmakers have it at even money that Jen Cody will be in the ensemble.
I can't bring myself to get excited about anything that comes from Roundabout anymore due to their recent track record. Plus Sutton Foster does nothing for me, but that's another matter entirely.
Sutton Foster has the sex appeal of a wet noodle.
This is actually a role that could use a Hollywood star.
Cody would actually make a terrific Bonnie/Erma/Whatever-the-Hell she's called in this version.
Marshall's involvement scares me.
I smell another Sutton Foster Tony nomination--it happens everytime she is in a show, regardless of how well she performs.
Not for Young Frankenstein.
Sorry, double post. Updated On: 6/21/10 at 12:26 AM
Ooops sorry about that. As soon as I posted, I thought maybe there was a performance she wasn't nominated for.
Looking forward to this.
I loved The Pajama Game, so I'm willing to give this the benefit of the doubt.
Don't know if it'd play the Stephen Sondheim or Studio 54. I can't believe the Pee-Wee producers really intend to run that show for such a ridiculously short amount of time.
At least we know there's no chance of them putting it into the American Airlines.
Maybe they have another show planned for The Sondheim. Like-GASP-a Sondheim show. Anything Goes would work well in Studio 54.
I can't stand Studio 54.
When will Roundabout announce their full season?
The design team excites me, but Kathleen Marshall has a way of making every show look like it came to Broadway by way of one of those big C.L.O. companies that crank out 6 or 8 musicals every summer: workmanlike, rarely original or exciting.
The casting is key. I like Anything Goes, but the book is weak and the jokes are hoary. You need top-notch comedians who are much funnier than the material they are working with. That goes double for the romantic leads. No matter how beautiful their songs are, the Hope and Billy scenes can slow the show to a crawl if the actors can't do more than gaze at each other and sing prettily.

I am really excited for this. I love "Anything Goes" and I cannot wait to see how Sutton plays Reno. Patti Lupone played the role so brilliantly in the last revival so she has tough act to follow.
I thought the rumor was that the revival of Merrily was going to open the Sondheim
Hunter Foster has approved this casting
So excited for this! Sutton Foster has one of the best voices on broadway but what happened to all the concerts she has planned for 2011. Won't belting it on broadway kind of kill the ability to travel to the fore-mention concerts? or will she pull another "I'll preform when i feel like it" like she did in Shrek?
Still im excited to see her in it...
