well.. I enjoy Hunter a lot.. and he writes too. I love Summer of '42..
But when Sutton belts, my jaw drops. And the woman is a true triple threat.
What're you asking? Celebrity deathmatch or who people like better?

Hunter is a competent performer. Sutton is a star. The effort to turn them into the next Warren Beatty and Shirley MacLaine is doomed. Warren and Shirley are both super talents and nothing like each other. Sutton and Hunter do much the same kind of thing. Sutton does it better.

They are both are not awful, but they both aren't the stars of Broadway.

Sutton needs to get a little meat on her bones. In watching her dance in TMM, all I could think of was a dancing skeleton.

I think it takes more than a couple of shows to judge who is more successful. Longevity and versatility can't be judged by a few hit Broadway shows. Time will tell.
The comments here remind me of the old TV ad for Imperial margerine featuring the 'Imperial crowns': "It always takes longer for BOYS!"
Does anyone know when they are planning on doing "PARTRIDGE FAMILY:THE MUSICAL"? It has been in the works for so long I am afraid they might be a bit long in the tooth by the time they get around to it.
Have them star in FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC! and I'll be there every night.
Sutton can dance, Hunter can't. Sutton sings like a goddess HUnter is great, but other male singers give him comptetion. They both have the charm of putting more heart into their performances than almost any other performer out there. From what I've seen Sutton is far better though. I have no way of telling Hunter is all that versitile of an actor, but Sutton sure is. She made one hell of an Eponine and sang which was easily the most heart-wrenching On My Own this girl has ever heard. Sutton wins the game hands down, but Hunter is certainly one heck of a talented performer in his own right.

If it were a Celebrity Death Match, Sutton would win hands down. She'd tap dance on Hunter's head until he was a bloody pulp.

It would be Hunter for me as Sutten is cute and all but not the right plumbing.... Oh you meant talent wise. Oooh
What do you mean Hunter can't dance? Did you know he was in the Cats Tour, and played Rum Tum Tugger? That character does a hell of a lot of moving and dancing, and the show itself is made up of a lot of dancing, which included Hunter's character.
Hunter was also in Footloose, another dance musical, so he had to be a good dancer to be in the show, considering he was in the younger ensemble, who does a LOT of dancing.
Hunter has an amazing voice and is a great actor. I still like Sutton better, but I feel it's wrong that people are under-estimating his talent. He is a triple threat!
