Sutton's Last Show

Wasn't Sutton's last show last night? Did anyone here catch it?

Oops....sorry...have a date malfunction after a week of night shifts.

re: Sutton's Last Show

I might be going the 23rd. If I do, I'll give a review on Kelly and Beth!

Wishing Sutton a terrific last show!

re: Sutton's Last Show

I saw the show yesterday. Though I am a big Sutton Foster fan, I put off seeing this particular show as it did not appeal. I found the show overblown and empty, but I did appreciate Sutton's performance as well as Andrea's.

Now I have to get up the urge to see Shrek.....

I also saw it yesterday with my dad. He loved it, I thought the show itself was OK, but the performances were good, especially Sutton and Andrea. I just wanted to see her before she left the show. "Roll in the Hay" was one of my favorite songs in the show.

re: Sutton's Last Show

Saw the show today and Bart gave a nice little curtain speech for the four cast members that were leaving the show today. Both Andrea and Sutton received nice applause, but neither came out the stage door.

Who were the other two cast members that left today?

re: Sutton's Last Show

Jon Patrick Walker and another ensemble member...

re: Sutton's Last Show

One was Jon Patrick Walker, who was on for Igor today. The other was a member of the male ensemble, and I apologize, but I can't recall his name.

I wonder if that means Matthew LaBanca will move back to being the primary Dr. Frankenstein cover.

re: Sutton's Last Show

Did Andrea leave today also? I didn't think she was leaving until July 20th.

Did Sutton get a nice crowd for her last show. Was it sold out?

re: Sutton's Last Show

I almost went today, but couldn't make it because I was busy (and after spending a lot on a Jersey Boys ticket, I couldn't afford it either). I would've been disappointed if Christopher Fitzgerald was out because he was one of my favorite characters from the show. How was his understudy? Maybe I'll go see this sometime after Leavel joins.

re: Sutton's Last Show

I'm surprised that Andrea Martin and Sutton didn't come out after their last show. Who in the featured cast came out? Did Megan come out?

re: Sutton's Last Show

Andrea did leave today...the press release was obviously wrong.

The show was sold out today, but it did seem like it was mostly tourists. Sutton did have a bunch of fans there, but not enough to really make it a special final performance, in my opinion. Still, both she and Andrea Martin gave fantastic performances.

I thought Christopher Fitzgerald's understudy (Jon Patrick Walker, who left the show today) was good, but trying a little bit too hard. Fitzgerald's comedic timing is just so perfect that it will be hard for anyone to match him in this role. Also, "Together Again" kind of fell flat I thought, because the chemistry between Bart and Fitzgerald is so fantastic.

re: Sutton's Last Show

Christopher is great as Igor. He is the main reason why the show is so great. His understudy has been Jon Patrick Walker. I never saw him as Igor but I did see him as Dr. Frankenstein and I liked him much better than Roger Bart.

re: Sutton's Last Show

If Andrea left today, is Beth Leavel starting earlier, or is the understudy going on until Leavel starts?

re: Sutton's Last Show

^I saw the show yesterday and it was just Andrea's understudy. They had already changed the poster inside however to say Kelly Sullivan instead of Sutton. I must say that Kelly did an excellent job. It was my first time seeing the show and she was really good, her singing and everything. She came out to the stage door at the end and was EXTREMELY nice. Just talking to her, you could tell she was so nervous for her debut. Megan and Robert were awesome in the show as well!

isn't it nice to know a lot? / and a little bit not.
