Hey all,
Totally random question here. BUT, I am just wondering what you all think the money value of the marquee from Sweeney Todd would be? (The John Doyle production) It's made of canvas and hung in the front of the O'Neill Theater. It was vertical and said Patti LuPone Michael Cerevis and then had the logo beneath it.
The Marquee can be seen here. It's the one just below where it says Eugene O'Neill Theater
I doubt it is being sold. I am sure it is either destroyed or somewhere in storage put there by the producers.
Jared,
DId you steal a marquee?
Because this sounds a whole lot like "My friend was wondering what the punishment for crack possession is..."
Unless you have it and are wondering how much to sell it for...
A few hundred dollars probably.
I've already reported you.

No I don't have one...lol It's for a crazy off the wall project I'm working on for a theater class. You people are so hyped up sometimes for no reason. I don't get it. lol
Oh, and just to let you guys know, these things are taken down and distroyed, or if someone is there (at the theater) when they are being taken down they can take them. The only reason why I know this is because during the Peters revival of GYPsY they changed the awning in front of the shubert from a red to a purple and i happen to have a part of the red one. it says curtain up "gypsy" light the lights. it had the logo in three spots so we seam ripped it and we each have a third.

I remember when the CHICAGO revival transferred to the Shubert Theatre (it opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre), people were always stealing those door-sized black and white photos that surrounded the theatre on the 44th Street side of the building.
My dance teacher has a CATS Subway poster.
For a few years, I had several giant billboards from outside different closed productions. I couldn't get rid of them or sell them to save my life - they just too cumbersome and too large. I ended up leaving them on the curb the last time I moved.
Sometimes they're sold at the Flea Market. You don't have to have stolen one to have it. The actual marquees are far too big to deal with, though.

but the marquees often arent mounted on anything. they're just a stretched vinyl type material. in the right apartment they could look stunning on a wall.
Stunning if you want your apartment to look like an advertisement.
