Sweeney Todd: Best Seats?

Does anyone have thoughts on what seats are better: non-twisting table seats or counter seats? Thanks!

Thanks! I was actually thinking the counter rows G and H- didn't realize the edges were also called counter. Did you have to twist around a lot in F?

I sat in counter F and I loved it, because I think it provided an excellent view of all the action without forcing me to turn around a lot. Having said that, I think counter A (directly opposite counter F) would have been even better. You get the same benefits as counter F, but additionally you are closer to the pie shop counter where a large portion of the action takes place. I haven't actually sat in those seats, so I may be missing something. But that's my guess based on what I observed.

We sat at a counter behind all the tables and it was perfect. I don't know the letter, but I would think either side would be great. You're facing the stage and you have a counter, so you can eat pie. I loved this production; It was a blast.

Bumping this for another seat question - I have the choice of A-1, A-5, or B-3. For those who have been before, which would be best? Is there a significant difference between the B and A sections (looking at the price difference and since I'm already seeing two shows that weekend, it would be nice to save a bit, but I want to ensure a great view).

I saw it from C12 last week and got some interaction. C1 (the seat across from me) also had a startling moment (don’t want to give it away).

We sat in C-1 and C-12 and it was swell beyond words. "Special surprise" for C-1 was a gas but the hubbub caused my drink--which I had very carefully placed under my seat--to be spilled. It was worth it. :) And hubs in C-12 got a little serenade of sorts. From C-1, I did occasionally want to twist around to see an actor in a back corner, but this seat is now considered so primo that they have now jacked up the four at the front of table C to be "premium." When I went they were the same price as the rest of the table and now they're like $60 more. I am going again in January and managed to get C 9-12 for the old price when I bought them last ten days ago, before the extension was announced. If money is no object, C-1 and C-12 are the bomb.

That said, if you want more of an overall view of the proceedings and don't need the immersive experience, those counters immediately behind the tables are probably pretty good. You just don't have the actors all up in your personal space. Seat choice comes down to physical closeness versus overall perspective, and people will differ.

As for twisting seats, these are hardback benches where your back is almost right up against someone else's with a board between your shoulders. I would caution against sitting in a twisting-labeled seat all night, unless at the end of a table where you'd have more options in how to position your body comfortably.

I would probably avoid sitting upstairs, though, unless that's the only thing you can get.
