I think Sylvia was always a limited run, but for whatever reason, there are several reputable online sources that say it's open run.
Interesting to see a musical taking the Cort. According to IBDB, this will be the first musical in the Cort since A Year With Frog and Toad in 2003

I hope Julie White finds herself a play that will run a little longer and I look forward to seeing Annaleigh in a musical. I am planning to see Bright Star though I've kept myself away from any promotional stuff so I have no opinion on it. I do know that I do not want to sit in the back of the orchestra at the Cort for this show.

The fact that I'm not seeing headlines saying that Sylvia has set its closing date suggests to me that this was always a limited run. It seems to be an implicit fact in the Bright Star venue announcement.

It's a limited run with room to extend, but obviously the need to extend wasn't there.

I don't think it can extend with the same cast. Annaleigh for one lives in CA part of the year due to Masters of Sex..I think the limited run is what worked for her with this show.

It was always a limited run. They announced it that way. You don't need this to be suggested to you if you can read a press release.
