THE 3 BOYS SHARING THE TITLE ROLE OF BILLY ELLIOT ARE ANNOUNCED IN NYTIMES:

The show, with music by Elton John and lyrics and libretto by Lee Hall, is now coming to Broadway. Performances are scheduled to begin on Oct. 1, at the Imperial Theater.

Scouting for the American cast started more than three years ago. Hundreds of boys auditioned all over the country to play the role of Billy. The three who were selected to share the role are Kiril Kulish, David Alvarez and Trent Kowalik.

Now could they announce the rest of the cast? Can't wait to hear who will be playing the adult roles or at least who they are trying to get.

I still don't understand why everyone is so excited?

I saw the show - I thought it was terrible.

Its going to be interesting if they try to get Brits for Mrs. Wilkinson and Billy's Father.

The show changes depending on the boy: the choreography is different, and some of the music varies (even the keys are changed, requiring the adult actors to adjust their performances).

This is very interesting.

I believe Beth Leavel is in almost final talks to play the dance teacher. A fine choice although Karen Ziemba would have been ideal. I would have loved to see Hayden Gwynne reprise her role on Broadway - she was brilliant but I don't think she wants to leave her small children behind in London.

I'm hearing Beth Leavel is in final call-backs to play Mrs. Wilkinson. I would have loved to see Hayden Gwynne reprise her definitive performance on Broadway or see Karen Ziemba take on the role, but Beth would make a fine Mrs. Wilkinson too.

I saw Trent in London a month ago. He is great and the finale of act 1 was unbelievable. I personally think the show is one of the best musicals in the world, because it has something honest. Hard to explain.

I am so excited for Trent. I have seen him grow up over the years (I am an Irish dance teacher) and am so excited for all his success. I was in London recently but missed seeing him (the boys that I did see were fantastic). I am glad that I will get to see him in NYC.

The other boys look great too. What a diverse cast of Billy's. I can't wait to see the broadway production.

I saw Trent on the West End also, and he was phenomenal. I'm so excited for this =D. And Beth Leavel? That just makes me MORE excited for this show's transfer.

I saw the show in London last year and absolutely loved it! I am very excited to see it hit Broadway. I hope it does well here and they don't dumb it down too much for American Audiences.

finally they announced them. they are adorable. by the way all three michaels have natural brown hair and cant wait till they are announced. there will be also three debbies prob just like in London. i wish we could have seen one of our own broadway kids in billy elliot. cant wait to see it too. i do want to see trent since he is from new york.
