Okay, so since Stephanie J.B. has turned down Elphaba, does anyone have any information on whether Shoshana might replace Idina when Idina moves on? I realize she's just been hired as a standby, but I've forever been waiting for Shoshana's shot at the "big" big time. I listen to "Home" on ScottAlan.net basically every day.

OKAY EVERYONE WHO IS A WICKED FAN PLEASE USE THIS THREAD FOR ANY QUESTIONS. JUST CHANGE THE SUBJECT TO THE TITLE OF YOUR QUESTION. I AM SICK OF THE BASHERS AND EXCESSIVE WICKED THREADS. I JUST SEARCHED FOR THIS THREAD AND FOUND LIKE 10 PAGES OF WICKED STUFF. I ENJOY WICKED VERY MUCH BUT I JUST WANT NO MORE BASHING AND NO MORE CONSTANT WICKED THREADS.

That's right. The show opened in October, and almost a year later, people STILL want to talk about it. That says something about the show.

No I actually think this post is a good idea. I dont think nystate wanted to get u mad, its just wicked is probably the most popular subject on this site, which isnt bad, i mean i love the show. it just makes sense to have one wicked board then. well at least i think so. that way u dont always have to go searching the boards for a certain thread. I mean if Avenue Q got really popular on the board I would suggest the same thing. Its just easier for a lot of people and it makes sense.

I dont mean to disrespect anyone. So if I do, I appologize. The amount of threads is alot. But this All purpose thread is great. It gives the Wicked fans a place to discuss the show. It does not overwhelm the other posters.

I, and many other posters on the board love Adam Pascal. And we decided to make an "all purpose adam thread." It has worked quite well. And no one minds it always being on the OT board.

I like the show. I really do. But i am getting very discourarged when this is all i see.

You got the idea, Derek. NyBroadwayNY: At no point in time did I bash your precious show, and no, the fact that people are still talking about it now does not say anything about the show itself- just about it's popularity. Plenty of crap is popular, so I don't see why you use that as your defense, unless perhaps you lack confidence in Wicked's true merit.

Myself, I don't think Wicked is any better than most shows (though it is certainly worse that some) out there. Most shows are mediocre, and Wicked is no exception in my mind. Then again, I'm not a critic, I'm a fan. I am thoroughly entertained by mediocrity, and quite often, when it comes to the theater (I was entertained by Wicked). What I do not do, however, is try to discover deeper meaning in something that lacks the artistic integrity that would justify the intense analysis this show has recieved on this board.

I'm not trying to put your favorite show down, I'm just trying to make you understand why it is difficult to deal with all the attention it gets, when at least two far superior musicals closed this season and it is still running. And remember, that has nothing to do with quality, just popularity, and I'll be the first one to admit that Wicked is popular, but that's not an opinion, it's a fact.

But I'm getting off topic, my point was that this is a good thread to have because the thousands of Wicked threads are tearing this message board apart. I was not trying to start a fight, NybroadwayNy, and I daresay your aggression sums up the attitude of many of the other posters on this board when it comes to this subject, and it is unneccessary.

I'm calm compared to the WICKED bashers, and don't tell me what's unneccessary.

BTW, WICKED is not my favorite show, although I like it more than some. I'm tired of all the bashing against, what seems like, innocent kids trying to share their excitement. I'm not a kid. As I've said before, people want to bash me? Go ahead. But don't think I'm going to read your post, start crying, and leave the boards. Instead, I'll fight back.

Ahem, I do believe that this is the point of the thread. It is one big Wicked thread so young Wickedites can play on the board unscathed and the Wicked "bashers" don't have to get angry over a bunch of Wicked threads that fill up the regular message board.
