Parks,
Yes, I saw it last weekend. I loved it. re: THE FULL MONTY lovers, unite here. I really enjoy most Theatre Three productions that I've seen though.

So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?

So, what do you think about if they changed the focus of the show to Dave instead of Jerry by cutting out "Man" and "Breeze Off the River"? Do you think that is even possible?

I saw this show so many times on Broadway it's embarassing. My last viewing was Kathleen Freeman's final performance. The superior score of that season and Freeman was robbed of the Tony. My favorite song from the score is "Walk With Me", followed by the great lyrics of "Big Ass Rock". Wilson in his finest performance on Broadway, DeShields, Conlee, Golden, Skinner... great cast, great performances, really tight appropriate score that made these blue-collor out of work stiffs singing seem a natural extension of their characters. The book was funny and supported the score while updating and transporting the source material. The direction was precise and the choreography inventive ("Michael Jordan's Ball" anyone?). My one problem with the show was the act I closer didn't prepare you dramaturgically for the frustration of the opening moments of the second act and the show didn't really pick up steam again until midway through "Jeannette's Showbiz Number". Though Freeman delivered a master class of a performance night in and night out. R.I.P. Kathleen, and congrats. What a way to go... performing 8 shows a week. To call her a pro would be an understatement.
