A really fun show. I went to see it four times.
We should include tributes to Kathleen Freeman who was wonderful in this show, and has since passed on.
Also, Andre De Sheilds was hilarious.

Favorite songs anyone?
Mine's probably MAN.
And yes, Freeman was excellent in it. She was an incredible talent.

You Walk With Me. Maybe because Ethan Paulini sings the crap out of it in the production I saw.

MAN kicks ass! And Patrick Wilson just bangs it out. I love that song. This whole show is brilliant. And what a cast they had. To see Annie Golden back on Broadway was a thrill enough, but then to have Emily Skinner (and [title of show]'s Heidi Blickenstaff when Emily was out, which was about half of the time
), and André De Shields who tore up that stage with BIG BLACK MAN every night. And I agree that Jerry Mitchell's choreography was completely underrated. The "ballet" that he created for MICHAEL JORDAN'S BALL was so unique. And of course, LET IT GO was superb. I adore this show to the ends of the earth.

Agreed times 1000. Patrick Wilson, sigh.

A wonderful show! I saw it twice on Broadway and three times when the First National Tour came to San Francisco. I also saw a great production last year at the Gallery Players in Brooklyn. I love the score especially "Walk With Me", "Life With Harold", "You Rule My World", and "Breeze Off The River".

One of the all time best shows - period.
Both Broadway and London companies superb.
A classic that didn't get its full due.
Long live TFM...which will happen as it is done regionally constantly.

Yes, The Full Monty suffered from terrible timing. It was just mowed down by the juggernaut that was The Producers that year. In another year, I think it would have been a huge hit. I saw it twice on Broadway and once on tour. LOVE it.
You Walk With Me is probably my favorite - one of the loveliest duets to come from Broadway in recent years. Life With Harold for favorite comic number and Let It Go and Michael Jordan's Ball for upbeat numbers.

Just saw a local theater's production of it on Friday--didn't like it at first, but it got much better. It was the theater's best show I've ever seen there. I didn't really care for how it was staged. I think it could have been done better--didn't care for the lead actor very much either, but it was a very nice score and a good book.

I agree, it is a great underrated show. Although I do love The Producers and don't begrudge it the majority of its Tonys. One exception: As much as I enjoyed Cady Huffman as Ulla, she was up against Freeman and Polly Bergen in Follies, both veterans who totally owned their parts and deserved some recognition. I also must admit that I have not seen anyone play the lead as well as Patrick Wilson.

Great score. One of the few scores to blend pop and musical theatre in a smart manner.

Not too long ago, I had the pleasure of seeing the professional Egyptian Theatre's (in Park City, UT) production of the show, and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen! Wonderful!
Your fupa is showing.

How were the reviews when it first opened? I don't really remember.
Anyone know how many stars the Post gave it?

A great show!!! TFM score is far superior to "The Producers". I saw it twice on Broadway. I remember someone saying that the premature close had to do with poor marketing. It did suffer from "The Producers" being such a huge hit. David Yazbeck's music is the perfect blend of pop and traditional musical theatre songs. I also thought he suffer the same fate with DRS.

I must proclaim, I LOVE THE FULL MONTY AS WELL. Personally, my favorite song is "It's a Woman's World" - ughhh she nailed it. I love the stripper in the beginning....well what woman wouldn't!
I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity**

I'm pretty sure it got great reviews, but got lost underneath The Producers hype that season.

LOVE THIS SHOW! I still don't understand how "The Producers" won best score over "Monty." Guess if I had to pick a favorite song from the score it would be "Big Ass Rock."

I think this is such a fun show! I'm sure I could figure this out if I did some research, but which character did Patrick Wilson play? The lead?
So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?

hermione, are you from Dallas? Have you seen the production running over at Theatre 3? I believe it's running until Sunday.

Patrick Wilson played Jerry Lukowski (the lead). And he deserved a Tony for that performance.
*sigh*

You Walk With Me is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, and Big A** Rock is one of the funniest.
If Percy Blakeney were in Les Mis....
Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
Pecry: But it's spelled J-A-V-E-R-T Javvurt.
Javert: Repeat after me Zsah...Zsah....
Percy: Oh! Zsa-Zsa! Like the Gabor sister! Well I personally have always prefered Eva.
Javert: (Looks for gun)
