Has anybody rushed a Wednesday matinee for this? My Dad and I were looking to snatch up tickets to this if we lost the Matilda lottery. (We're seeing PIPPIN at night)

Rush to the box office, get there by 6 am the latest, this is the hottest ticket of the season!!
In all seriousness, I got a rush ticket two hours before showtime a few weeks ago. You'll be fine.

Oddly enough, they were out of rush for the matinee bet the time I got there at 12:10
Oh well.
I did walk past Cicely Tyson on the street immediately after

Posted: 7/24/13 at 2:11pmThere was a $37 special on rear mezz during previews which is now $42, not a bad price to see this show. When I went the last two rows were full but the rest of the mezz was empty so the staff let us move down. The rear mezz was not bad at all.

I went with my friend a few weeks ago and they still had tickets for the matinee 10 minutes before show time. We ended up getting seats for the evening show (which were great) but I don't think you'll have a problem 2 or so hours before.

Posted: 7/24/13 at 4:22pmWhen I saw the show last week there were a ton of empty seats. I don't know why they wouldn't just sell you two seats off to the side. Why not get some money instead of no money?

Posted: 7/24/13 at 6:37pmThe tickets they had left started at $69.50. We ended up doing SRO at Motown.

Posted: 7/24/13 at 7:34pmIs this a student or general rush, and how much, and where are the tickets? Thanks in advance.

Posted: 7/24/13 at 11:42pmFor the life of me, I can't understand why--if this show is as empty as it sounds--they won't do general rush and not a lot of TDF. I would have loved to see it.

It's not that it's not selling. It's just that the theater is too big. The set is designed for a much smaller theater, which makes me think the Sondheim was a fall back plan.
It's a great show, although now I think the show has gone a little off-the-rails, so maybe it's not a must see.
I think it's selling well enough to keep its running costs going and whatnot. It's a small show, so it doesn't need to make a ton, and maybe they got a deal on the Sondheim.

Posted: 7/25/13 at 8:55pmI am a college student in Ohio, and was planning on rushing this show during my September trip. Our student ID's do not have dates/years on them, will they still allow me to rush?

Posted: 7/26/13 at 12:53amNot if it's the box office Nazi that was there when I went two weeks ago. Not even kidding. Are you a current student? If so, bring perhaps a printed transcript or class schedule for the upcoming semester. That could do the trick.
