Has anybody tried rushing The Visit yet? Where are the seats?

Anyone? In the preview thread I know several people have said they rushed and it's not difficult to get tickets, but I'm wondering about location. Better to rush and get extreme side but orchestra seats, or buy the back of the balcony for $29/39?
Thanks!

I rushed on Wednesday the 15th for the matinee. I got seat G16 in the orchestra. It was pretty partial; missed Chita's entrance and a few other things and would recommend just buying the balcony for $27.

Which would be better: trying to rush, or buying a balcony seat for the same price?

Sat in the balcony on opening night and it was way too far and high for me. It's an imitate show, the closer the better.

Does anyone else have an update on the rush tickets vs. the balcony? Also, has anyone bought balcony tickets via TodayTix? Any info on where they're located?

A friend of mine bought balcony tickets via TodayTix and before the show started, everyone in the balcony was ushered to the mezzanine, which afterwards was still only about half full.

I bought the $25 balcony seats back in February, and at the matinee yesterday it was maybe 10% filled. The usher let us take any seats in the balcony that we wanted a few minutes before curtain, but didn't offer to let us move to the mezzanine (maybe it was well sold for the afternoon performance).
Even though the rush tickets sound like they may be somewhat partial view, I think I would definitely do that when I go back. The view from the balcony is terrific, but I think there is definitely something to be gained by seeing this show from the orchestra. Therefore, if someone has already seen the show from the balcony and can choose between buying those seats again or doing rush, I think I would choose the partial view orchestra seats just to gain a different, closer vantage point.

Thanks, for the advice. I think I'll go with whatever's more convenient. Rush if I have the time and TodayTix if I go with a friend.

Are the rush seats specifically the far side partial view ones, or are they whatever is available the day of? I'm looking to go tomorrow and there are some great seats available on telecharge that I'd like to try to get rush price for if possible.
If not...how are the ushers in this theater with moving you up closer if you ask politely?

Like others have said, we we invited to move to the front of the balcony by the ushers just before the show started. Don't know about moving in the Orch if you have rush seats though.

I arrived at the box office today at 10:30 after rushing Skylight beforehand and has no problem picking up a single rush ticket for the evening in the Orchestra. She did tell me that it was somewhat partial view (as other posters have noted) but it will no doubt be worth seeing the show up close and for only $29.

This is exactly what I'm planning on doing on Saturday. How early should i show up for skylight, and what is the latest i can show up to get a rush ticket for The Visit? Any updates?

Phillypinto, When I picked up my will call ticket on Sunday (Tony day) there were only two people in line for rush. With closing, it may be busier. They were selling, as of Sunday, $19.00 balcony and rear mezz. They may have ended that promotion. The house manager, I spoke to was completely unaware of that promotion, but the usher in the balcony confirmed it to me. Skylight, in my opinion, would be the harder of the two for rush, so I could go early. Be open for mat or evening, then buy the slot that is left over for The Visit.

I was also there Sunday (Tony day). Got there at about 12:45 and there appeared to be plenty of rush tickets left. The seat was far house right in the 4th row (closest seat to the wall). It was definitely partial view and you couldn't see the upper stage left portion of the stage, but the show is staged centrally enough that it really didn't matter. I'd guess there were maybe 2 minutes of action I missed. Definitely worth it for the price.

Does anyone think that I could rush The Visit late in the day, or better yet has anyone tried? I'm thinking of getting there at 5:00 for the 8:00 show. I know tickets aren't selling well, but do they have a set number of tickets for rush that they run out of, or will they sell me any available seat since they seem to have ample?

Regarding Skylight, I got a ticket this past Wednesday when I got in line at 10.01 (after attempting to rush The Audience only to find out they didn't have an evening show).
The Visit I rushed last Saturday for the matinee. Got a at 1.25pm for 2pm show. My friend had forgotten her student Id so she got a $19 balcony seat, but was moved down to the mezz as they closed the balcony that performance.

Without doing a head count I'd say there were about 10 people in line when they opened at 10 am.
