No, you didn't. He plays the Wiz for the last 3 or 4 performances.
That said, I just have absolutely no interest in seeing this.
Is it worth the money?
I'm so excited to see this! I can't believe I got a 15 dollar ticket.

Yankee, if I had paid for my ticket, it would've been completely worth the money.
Having said that, I must say that I had never seen The Wiz or heard most of the music, so it was all new to me.
I think...wait til the end of the run when Ashanti will be stronger and Orlando will be gone.

Rested Body is a Rested Mind is in the show.....I have the program....it's just not a big number.
The Lion is James Monroe Iglehart, who I have seen in a few productions and enjoyed his singing and acting in each of them.
I'm glad to hear the show was enjoyable. Now I am even more excited to see it next Saturday.

YoungSally, you mentioned Purlie being another tough Stephanie Mills part. When was she in Purlie? Melba Moore originated the role of Lutibelle.

I think uncageg was asking when Stephanie Mills was in Purlie, not about the Encores! production.

Are they holding scripts in the hands ? Thank you.

Nope -- off book -- full costumes etc etc etc.
a lot of actors in the regular Encores productions are off-book, too. which, honestly, always impresses me.
I saw James Monroe Inglehart in Spelling Bee and his voice was FANTASTIC. I can only imagine how wonderful he is as the lion
