I cover many media/celeb events and this Tuesday I am attending "The Wiz" round table & media event with the cast and crew. If you had any questions about this production or the show in general, I will see what I can do in getting them answered.
Here a few questions: what will the emerald city ballet look like? Do you guys feel that there is a lot of pressure to top the other live musicals with this production? What is it like to have fatima robinson as the choreographer? To shanice, i know this is your first role and a lot of people are expecting you to sing your face off like stephanie, do you feel any pressure at all when it comes to those expectations?
Thanks for giving us the opportunity for questions!
Has much of the original book changed for this live production?
What do you hope audiences take away from this production of The Wiz Live?
This live musical broadcast will be one of the first to feature a predominantly African-American cast. What is like to tell this story in the context of modern African-American culture?
Will a cast recording/soundtrack album be released for The Wiz?
Why the changes? The Wiz is now a woman and the have removed an original song and replaced it with a song from the movie. They have also added a new song. From what I have been reading they are saying they will be true to the original. They are not.
