THE WIZ on ibdb.com

Anyone else notice that if you go to IBDB.com the planned revival of "The Wiz" is listed on the frontpage along with all of the other shows currently playing on Broadway? Is that a pre-programmed thing?

That is strange. It must have JUST been added this week. That's a great sign!

Excuse me Kavana, why don't YOU keep up?

"The Wiz" has been listed on IBDB.com for some time but it NEVER has been on the homepage with the list of currently running shows. Don't try to act like you know what you're talking about. You posted the DREAMGIRLS cast notice on this board that you found on the IMDB message boards but some anonymous poster...oh yeah...you are so IN THE KNOW. HAHAHA

"The credits for this production have not yet been completed or verified."

Also - perhaps they were going to jump in to take the Hirschfeld since CHARITY cancelled, but couldn't because CHARITY decided to go ahead?

Yea, CATS. I think it may have planned originally for this month, but nothing ever happened... Maybe ibdb had programmed it when it was first announced?

Or maybe it's IBDB's version of an April Fools joke.

re: THE WIZ on ibdb.com

why are there a bunch of songs on the song list for both the original and revival productions that I've never heard of??? dammit... I think I remember "A Rested Body" when I saw an amateur production, but I don't really remember some of those other ones that aren't on the CD...

re: THE WIZ on ibdb.com

It's possible that it could have just been in the database to appear on the mainpage in April when the production was still in the works
Have there even been casting calls?

re: THE WIZ on ibdb.com

Hey CATSNY,"A Rested Body" is the song Glinda sings when she makes her entrance. It is not on the obc cd as is "Who Do You Think You Are" (the song Dorothy & friends sing to The Wiz when they discover he's a fake).I've always wondered why they left those songs off.

They don't list SWEET CHARITY.

re: THE WIZ on ibdb.com

yeah, this came up as an accident. you can see that it was scheduled on ibdb for 'april 2005' so that's why it came up. we all know it's not happening for a while.
