Sharon Brown took over for Lillias White near the end of it's run at the Ambassador theatre,I have the Playbill.ibdb does not list her but I know what I saw,& I remember being pissed that I wasn't going to see Lillias again but was pleasantly surprise by Ms Cason.
Ooh, I love Yvette Cason. I saw her understudy Effie (for Sharon Brown) in Dreamgirls way back in the shows 1987 return to Broadway. She was great.Does anyone know what she been up to lately?
I saw her in The Wiz when I was 10. Of course I didn't know who she was at the time but I do remember her as a munchkin. If you listen to the OBCR you can clearly hear her doing backup for Addapearl on He's The Wizard. And you can hear her on Everybody Rejoice.
All kinds of stuff ,like old classic playbills ,magazines, cds, even records . They also have posters , picture stills & promo photos of broadway shows. There's also a celebrity table were you can get stuff autographed by your favorite broadway & soap opera performers. It's really cool everyone should check it out.
I am not a Beyonce fan at all but... if she has the part she has it.Let's just hope she does a good job. I want this movie to do well no matter who's in it.
Hey CATSNY,"A Rested Body" is the song Glinda sings when she makes her entrance. It is not on the obc cd as is "Who Do You Think You Are" (the song Dorothy & friends sing to The Wiz when they discover he's a fake).I've always wondered why they left those songs off.
I could just picture Sheryl Lee doing Jazz Baby & Do It Again. Only In New York was fine but As Long As I'm Here With You...WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT??? It was better than the song she wasdoing in previews,Aint no Prohibition On Love or some mess. They messed that part (Muzzy) up big time.
