I live on the west coast, so getting to New York is a special occasion, and I'm flying into town Tomorrow (wednesday) for a week on Broadway. However, because I'm paranoid about flight conditions at the moment, I deliberately didn't purchase a seat for any shows the day I fly into town incase my flight gets delayed. If I get to the TKTS booth by around five oclock, do you think they're still be decent availability for either GOD OF CARNAGE, HAIR, or NEXT TO NORMAL?

Also, I've always been a little unsure of how weekend performances work at TKTS, especially shows (like HAIR AND NtN) that have Sunday evening shows. When do tickets go on sale for those rare evening shows?

There were Next to Normal tickets available from TKTS up until at least a half hour before Aaron Tveit's last on Sunday. You should have no problem getting one Wednesday. The other two I'm not too sure about. And all available tickets go on sale as soon the booth opens in the morning. You can check the website for the specific time. (I don't know it off-hand.)

Except that N2N is dark on Wednesdays. So there would be NO tix available for the show at all.

You have a good shot at either of the other two shows. Sales drop off tremendously after the NYE weekend. And if they DON'T have availability, you could stop at the box office directly. Bring a BroadwayBox discount code with you. It wouldn't be much more expensive (if at all) than tkts. You might even get better seats. More quickly achievable if there are two of you and one heads to theater and waits to hear from you about tkts availability. (Or vice versa)

What else are you planning to see? Have a great week in the city.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I'm coming down Thursday for three days and plan to hit both the ticket office and TKTS (if necessary) Thursday night for "Ragtime." Given the show is closing Sunday and had an upsurge last week, should there be any problems getting decent seats? Like Chairin, I'd be going about 5 pm.

This is a great link for what's been on the TKTS board this past week, and what the discounts have been. Ragtime was on the board for 50% off for the Sunday matinee, which means that there are definitely tickets still available.

I live in NY and never hit the TKTS booth until 15 minutes prior to curtain, and I almost always find a show I've been wanting to see (summertime is rough). I second the suggestion that you should find a discount on broadwaybox and get the ticket at the box office. It is unbelievably cold this week and TKTS is completely unprotected from the elements. You can get N2N for $65. Buying at TKTS would be $59.75, not enough of a savings to brave the elements, IMHO. Besides, I think you get better seats at the box office.
