TOTS Dreamgirls ON or OFF?

Well after I got my reund for The Buddy Holly Tour I inquired about Dreamgirls. According to the box office the show is scheduled to perform. Although there is a cast on hold. No contracts have been signed and according to Jennifer Holliday's twitter page she is OUT!

The Wolf Trap cancelled them. So now what/?? This was to be Jennifer Holliday's last turn as Effie. For real this time.... But its kinda shady to advertise her and not do the show....

Anyone have any real information? Is Dreamgirls ON or OFF?

If its on why don't they extend the run and cancel the rest of the season???

There was an article posted a few days ago that if Theater of the Stars did not raise a certain amount of money by early July, they would shut down. This is probably why some shows are sort of in limbo now.

Yes I saw that...but they also posted on their Facebook page a CLARIFICATION DREAMGIRLS WILL BE PRODUCED AS SCHEDULED>....weird

I don't know much about this production or the theater, but they say they INTEND to. Doesn't mean it'll actually happen. I think a more official announcement will come out closer to the fundraising deadline.

I think this was a co-production with Wolf Trapp, and they have already announced the cancellation of all performances and started processing refunds. Doesn't seem likely this will happen, and it does, it will be without Holliday.
The Jennifer Holliday in Dreamgirls performances scheduled for August 22 – 25 have been cancelled.

I don't really get how these things work. I mean, was the theater company just horrible produced or has attendance been down?
