Funny, Gilligans Island also popped into my head. The Skipper singing,"...do not forget, stay out of debt, think twice and take this good advice from me..." lol. That episode was probably one of my first musicals.
But was Mary Ann good? LOL! That's the most important factor to the entire series.

I enjoyed it- thought it nicely managed to both pay tribute to *and* also mock the series, as any good satire should be able to. Definitely not for the kiddies- Carol Brady sings a song that includes the lyrics "play hide the salami," etc. I don't really know the tv show that well, but I didn't feel like there were too many 'in jokes' that were going over my head or anything. Not something that I would see transferring to a larger venue, but for the space it was in (Theatre West) it worked very well.
And, nothing to do with anything about the production, but Barry Williams was in the audience the night I was there, hee.
How about TV shows that are musicals? After 'Dr Horrible', I got questioned on what was out there; all I got was the series back in the day that 'Evening Primrose' was part of (which wasn't even all musicals), the musical episodes of 'Xena' and 'Buffy', 'Flight Of The Conchords', and the one-off 'AD/BC: A Rock Opera'. Am I missing any? I must be!
The musical Daria episode!!! Does anyone else remember that? "Manly!"
Man, I loved that show.
