Fingers crossed that this is true.
I hear from friends that it’s great.
Looks like it would fit nicely in the Roth.

The show just posted a video (which I lost when my page refreshed) of Dujonna Gift & Sam Tutty in NYC on the subway. Curious what they’re doing here…

A month or two back, they were in NYC shooting promotional videos for the production. That’s what they’re posting. Unfortunately, no word on a transfer yet.

This needs to be seen in NYC but can’t they go off Broadway first? I’d be surprised to see it straight on a Broadway stage although many strange things happen these days haha.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

It isn’t exactly selling out in London. Anything other than off Broadway would be a massive mistake

Anything new on the chances of this show making its way across the pond?  The extended West send run ends in August, which means we could see it in time for the holidays. All my friends who’ve seen it in London have raved.

We are not a rave, but then we had an understudy for Robin and that made a big difference.

The material just isn't strong enough without two charismatic leads. The script has a whole mess of holes and character actions that don't make much sense. But, it can be charming - and we enjoyed it despite the Robin we saw. So, a transfer could be difficult.
