Tangled will celebrate its opening night Nov. 14. While the production is currently only slated to play the Disney Magic cruise line, sources tell Playbill.com that the creative team is eager to see the show expanded into a full-length stage musical.
Disney created a completely immersive experience for the production, which transforms the 977-seat Walt Disney Theatre into a "fanciful Bavarian kingdom, immersing audiences in Rapunzel’s world and making them feel a part of her story."

Really hope that it's true! The new show is on YouTube and it's a great first steps. The new songs are amazing and what the movie should have sounded like!

Hoping to turn a Disney Cruise Line show into a "full-length stage musical" does NOT mean BROADWAY (FOR REAL)... IMHO

They have a lot of "full-length" shows in other Disney properties that are by no means ready for Broadway...

Did Menken do the new songs?
Yes. Also, the title of this thread is absolutely ridiculous. Anonymous sources claiming the "creative team is eager to see the show expanded into a full-length musical" indicates nothing. Of course the creative team wants an opportunity to expand it. Who wouldn't? There is zero suggestion of this thing coming to Broadway.

Did anyone else watch the clip?
The only thing I liked was the horse.

Are Disney actors on their ships and amusement parks equity? It doesn't look like a terrible production.

They do use an Equity contract at the parks for the stage shows (and maybe some of the parade performers?).
The ships are not under an Equity contract since they do all their work outside the US (rehearsals are in Toronto, and the performances are in international waters, obviously). However, because of being completely international work they do hire many actors who are members of Equity.

Usually I like Disney shows but this one looks to much like the original run of Beauty for me, and too much of that "oh golly gee" acting. But hopefully if they do decide to make a go at it on Broadway that they jack up the scenery so its not so cartoony and 'expected'

The overwhelming majority of actors cast are, in fact, members of AEA.

Many of the best actors are not equity.

I had the same thought as you, but it reminded me more of the Little Mermaid with its bright, sickly neon-pastel colored set rather than the original BaTB production, which I think captured the sombre and serious mood of the movie pretty well.

I actually don't think it looks so bad--I almost hate to admit. I mean not remotely Broadway ready, but compared to the theme park adaptations--if I was stuck on one of those ghastly cruises I would see it (though with a drink in hand--they let you do that at family shows, right?) I like the new songs.

Disney already has Frozen & Hocus Pocus lined-up next for Broadway. I'd say Tangled is about 5 years away if it happens.
