Little Mermaid is definitely not selling poorly.

It's every little girl's favorite story. Sales are doing very well.

CurtainPullDowner....as I have stated many times, is it necessary to hi-jack every single Disney related thread and make negative comments? Plus, this time, you made a flat out lie about tickets not selling well. Stop being a downer...

The current tour of AIDA is a non-Equity tour which isn't a recreation of the Broadway production (different sets, costumes, etc.).

The original National Tour of AIDA (which WAS based on the Broadway production) closed many years ago.

An Equity tour of BEAUTY & THE BEAST hasn't been out in several years. Most productions now are local regional productions.

Due to the reception of TARZAN on Broadway, it's unlikely that it'll tour. If Disney Theatrical does consider touring this, it will be drastically modified and reduced for the road. The show just didn't find an audience. Not even the expected tourist audience and it's a costly gamble to hope for a flop show to find an audience on the road.

It might be good for Disney World!

I could definitely see a production of Tarzan being mounted in one of Disney's theme parks. It would be great for the Animal Kingdom in FL. For some reason, however, I feel like a full-scale, national touring production is highly unlikely at this point.

tarzan did have a show in disney world. disney actually closed it because of the tarzan show opening on broadway, so i dont think tarzan is coming back to the world any time soon, but it might go to one of the out-of-country disney parks. or at least thats what i heard when i was down there.

The Pre Show Group sales presentation of MERMAID did not go well or sell tickets, remember TARZAN had a big advance but lost all of that.
That is not a lie.

FYI, Tarzan wasn't seeling poorly. Tarzan was well sold through the summer and Tarzan consistently had good sales week to week. The lowest they ever sold, as I recall, was around 70%..

Tarzan in Disney was an ok show. I didnt know they closed it for the Broadway Show but they had like people in rags on Roller skates dancing around and it was just the few songs from the movie not an actual show.
I thought it was ok.

They did not close the Disney World show ("Tarzan Rocks") because of the Broadway production. They closed "Tarzan Rocks" for "Finding Nemo: The Musical". They closed "Tarzan Rocks", re-modeled the performance area there, and opened "Finding Nemo: The Musical".
