Could you go into any more detail about the sets at all? Bob Crowley is my idol, and I am SOOO excited for this project if only for his involvment. I hope Jenn can pull of a good British accent. I would say that Minnie Driver's voicework in that movie is some of the best work she has done, and definitely one of the funniest Disney ingenues.

It was mentioned on another board that Josh Kobak is doing Tarzan, so it's likely he was that other Josh, and probably that the others on the stage are doing the show too. Hmmmm.
I remember Josh Strickland from the non-equity Rent tour! Has to be the same one right? Did he LOOK like Tarzan?

I have no idea. Skinny, long blonde hair.

Yes he certainly looked like Tarzan. (Long, messy blonde hair/buff.) But more importantly he sounded great! Gambatese I could live without.
Above all, Phil Collins sounded AMAZING and the show concept looks really cool. Disney generally knows what they're doing. I can't wait to see some more work from the De La Guarda people.

Expect another major Disney hit. I'm surprised they're not opening out of town first. They must have a tremendous amount of faith in the project, and from what I've read about it, it seems to be a sure-fire hit in the making.

Previews beging on my Birthday - woot! I'm really surprised they didnt do an out of town tryout. Did Lion King & B&B do out of town tryouts?

The lack of an out-of-town tryout was addressed at the presentation. The flying and various technical aspects were tested in two workshops, in Buenos Aires and SUNY Purchase. The show's physical production is being designed specifically for the Richard Rodgers Theatre, so it was decided that it was better for the cast and creative team to work in the show's Broadway home for an extended preview period, rather than in an out-of-town theatre, due to the production's various technical demands.

The people who sang at the presentation are not necessarily in the production. Still, it was Josh Strickland who sang the duet with Jenn Gambatese.

I read somewhere that they changed Aida's name to what it is now during an out of town preview, what was it originally called?

Hmm, Josh Kobak DID sing at the presentation as well, but why would they have Strickland sing Tarzan if Kobak is the one they want to BE Tarzan. Not that I would complain. Maybe they were trying to trip people up? I wonder if maybe one Josh will standby the other? I'm really curious to find out now!

Oh god, how much I would pay to see Kobak in a loin cloth. I think I would probably have a heart attack though. Hott stuff is he.
