Hi
Would like to see several shows over Thanksgiving week -- beginning with PURLIE. How can I be reasonable assured that the principals arent taking the holiday off? I've had really bad luck the last few years -- I keep showing up for performances with understudies -- all of who do great, but....
THANKS for any wisdom

IDK if you've previously gone during Thanksgiving or other holidays or whether this is just at regular times. But, to the best of my knowledge, it's very very rare for principals to get to just take off for a Holiday (that's not a sincere religious holiday, e.g. Yom Kippur). That's prime money making time and producers don't want to give it up.
There is no assurance - it's live theater and people can and will miss shows without notice. I know you know this, but that's really all there is to it.
You should check for any announced and scheduled absences posted on ticketing websites and social media but as JKCohen said - stars are unlikely to be out (for a planned absence) during the holidays.
Leslie Odom Jr is above the title, so if he has any pre planned absences it will be listed before you purchase your tickets.
