Let me rephrase, then.
At some point in 2011, Eye2Eye Media couldn't get the rights to broadcast Jesus Christ Superstar, so they really (shamelessly) ripped them off blind, in a somewhat neutered live-TV fashion that ensured they wouldn't get complaints from the Jewish lobby (fair is fair where the characters of Caiaphas and Annas are concerned, at least in the stage version) or the general public. It then limped onto American shores via a conservative TV network looking for primetime Easter programming.
They should all be ashamed.
With the poor ratings, guess this means we won't see Fox's Nativity Live. Imagine Mary and Joseph being turned away at the Westin.

Dick Clark Productions is the production company that Dick Clark founded. The company has continued on after his death. The company produces a lot of awards shows (including the Golden Globes) and is still heavily involved with Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve (Dick Clark was a mentor to Ryan Seacrest, hence Seacrest taking over the hosting duties after Clark's stroke in the mid-2000s).
I saw several ads for it, but I also live about an hour outside of NOLA.
My mom was in town last weekend and decided to watch it. She summed it as Judas betraying Jesus because he was having an affair with both Peter and Mary. I called it Bible Glee. It just seemed so odd and random. She's a pastor and found the whole thing hysterical.
