I'm SO upset that I can't be there, but unfortunately, my job requires that I be at work once in a while, so I can't be there for all the fun -- both at Virgin and the matinee and the cubcakes. I'll be in the city this Saturday -- could I bribe anyone to pick up a cubcake for me? I don't care if it's stale, I just want to make my contribution to this worthy cause. Please PM me if any of you are willing. Thanks.
On-stage at the matinee was a lot of fun. I was sitting next to a family, and Jackie went up to the youngest boy, and went "Am I the only one who gets it, tow-headed kid?!!" Apparently she thought about it after and figured he might not know what that meant because at the stage door Cheyenne explained it.
Before Strange Magic I looked behind me (when Mary and Jackie were coming down from behind the seats) and Mary started waving at me as thought to keep me quiet and was going "SHHHH! Don't tell anyone you saw us!" There were lots of little things like that.
Anyway, to the point of my post: The rush situation seems to change a lot, but I went today and was given a stage seat around 12:15. Pictures!

The choosing was not...

You guys, I'm not able to use my ticket to XANADU for tonight's performance. It's the Lincoln Center taping, and it's an on-stage ticket. If anyone is interested in it, it's $50, and my friend will be there at the theatre with the ticket.

Last night was an excellent show, as always. You'd never know it was filmed, except for the announcement at the beginning. BroadwayJim - You should be telling what Jackie did to your pal - haha. Another brilliant ad-lib & it will live on in the Lincoln Center Archives for all time
It was great seeing everybody there too... Linder, WonderRobbie, Kate2, Midnight & Broadwaygal etc. It was also nice to meet some new folks... Gina, Leslie & Betsy. Now I can't wait till next Wednesday's Boys Night https://www.themenevent.com/boysnightxanadu.htm to do it all over again.

I'm glad it worked out with you getting the ticket, Betsy.
Thanks for that, Jeff.
I don't know if this has been mentioned before, so pardon me if it has, but I love in this photo (below) how you can see Curtis' adorable face poking out in the bottom right-hand corner.

It was a really great show and it was really nice to meet all of you guys too and maybe I'll see you all again. That thing with the pocket square almost had me rolling on the floor laughing. Jackie was definitely in top form that night. Now that I've been on stage I don't think I'll ever be able to go back. :)
I want to see the tape so I can watch myself absolutely lose it twice, both thanks to Jackie Hoffman.
The first was during "Evil Woman," when she was facing only us and being hilariously rude.
The second was the infamous "Pocket Square" incident when my new buddy Ken became Jackie's nightly victim. He was seating between Robbie and me and was wearing a suit with aforementioned PS and when Jackie turned around and screamed "Pocket Square!" I knew he was doomed. She took it out of his pocket, swung it around, stamped on it....I was dying, Robbie was dying and I think Ken was in a state of shock. And now it's immortalized!!!
It was a great performance...it keeps getting more and more fun each time. Robbie said it was his 35th visit, Ken said it was his 7th and then there's me...the little piker only on number four.
I know, I know...but I was laughing so hard I only wrote what I actively remembered. It went on so long...seemed like a couple of minutes...it was absolutely classic.
Awesome! That was fun. (and as a matter of fact, I am in the video .)

Oh - That's too bad... I'm seeing "Title of Show" on the 5th & "Damn Yankees" on the 6th. It'd be interesting to see the understudies for the understudies go on as Sonny & Kira (meaning Kyle Dean Massey & Kate Loprest) Let us know when that happens ok

We'll be sitting on-stage on the 5th to see Patti and Curtis as Sonny and Kira at the matinee(we are also seeing [tos] that evening).
It'll be cool to see them go one together! We're taking a first timer, so its unfortunate she won't get to see Kerry and Cheyenne. At least we know Patti and Curtis will deliver a great show!
Thursday, June 12th - Cheyenne Jackson, Kerry Butler and the cast will perform "All Over The World” on Live with Regis and Kelly (ABC TV-9 AM-EST).
Friday, June 13th - The entire cast will perform a medley including "Magic”, "Don't Walk Away” and "Xanadu” on the CBS Early Show (8 AM hour) , live outside on the plaza.
Saturday, June 14th - Kerry Butler will appear on CBS Saturday Morning (8 AM) appearing in their Second Cup Café segment, performing "Suspended in Time” in addition, she will sing a song from her new PS Classics CD, "Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust”.
Their listing for the 2008 Tony Awards says: "Whoopi Goldberg hosts what will surely be a big night for South Pacific and August: Osage County. I'm not gonna lie: I'll be crushed if Xanadu loses, as expected. There's just not enough appreciation out there for feathered hair and roller rinks! Who's with me? Olivia Newton-John?"
My sister (who lives nearish to the city) called us at 8:30ish to tell us that Kerry was on. She was so proud that she recognized someone from Xanadu! Also, she's mildly pissed at us for making her specific ringtone on our cell phones to "Evil Woman" so mayhaps she called to rub it in our face since sadly, we do not get that channel in the Berkshires...
