I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

I did! It was a very cute little interview & promo for her new CD.
Did anybody enjoy watching the cast sing "Do Ya" on the Visa Signature Tony Special as much as I did? It was just brilliant. Cheyenne sounded so damned good. I only wish it was in the show.

I saw Xanadu for the first time at the Saturday matinee. I'm in love with this show! It's hilarious, entertaining, smart, and witty. And brilliant performances all around. It's beyond me how Cheyenne Jackson and Mary Testa didn't get Tony nominations... they're just so good! If I were a Tony voter, I couldn't imagine voting for anything else. I've seen all four nominated musicals now, and this is by far the best one!
I saw it for the first time today and loved it! Kerry Butler is so incredibly hilarious and charming, and Cheyenne Jackson is amazing; I can't believe he didn't get a Tony nod. The musical was just so much fun. One particularly funny, unique moment: Jackie Hoffman said some line in Spanish to the people in the on-stage seats, and then explained that she said it in Spanish in honor of the Puerto Rican Day Parade today. That got a big laugh.
Hello. My dream is rapidly approaching.... seeing "Xanadu" for the first time on Broadway. I'll be there... with bells ringing... for the Wednesday, June 11th 8 p.m. perf.. onstage seating. I'll wear one of those "Hello, My Name is..." stickers, with my BWW username. Say hi! from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
Does anyone know why they sang "Do Ya?" on the Visa Tonys Special? I really liked it, but it's not in the show, just struck me as weird. But I did think that their perf. came off best on the special.
Laughter is much more important than applause. Applause is almost a duty. Laughter is a reward.

After seeing In the Heights last week and all of the other Best Musical nominees (including Xanadu 5 times), I can affirm that Xanadu should indeed win the Tony!
After finally seeing it, and adoring it, I'm sort of perplexed as to why it didn't get more than 4 Tony nods! Cheyenne and Mary Testa for sure should be on there, Costumes as well.
Is it just because it opened nearly a year ago? Out of sight out of mind?
Ryan, you are so right on!!!! Now, aren't you sorry you didn't/couldn't see it sooner? It's my experience that once you get hooked on that show, you keep return for more portions!!!! I've only (?) seen it 9 times (nothing compared to the pros) but I intend to go again on the 14th (seeing Top Girls in the PM).
Personally, I love that they're doing "Don't Walk Away" because it's my favorite song in the show. It doesn't really require much set up other than - he doesn't want her to leave. It uses 95% of the cast (All Over the World doesn't have Jackie and Mary in it, though Kerry doesn't sing in Don't Walk Away, she's at least there for the start of it, and probably will be for more depending on how they stage it), it shows the background choreography and Cheyenne gets to sing the heck out of it. I think having him sing it is fantastic especially considering he didn't get (but SHOULD have been) nominated.
"Really? They're only doing one song? Don't most noms usually do a medley?"
Not really, it depends on the show. Some do medleys but a lot only do one song. Some really random examples I can think of that did one song are the Peters revival of Gypsy, BSM's Man of La Mancha, Caroline or Change, Contact, Titanic, Wonderful Town, Urinetown, Rocky Horror, Ragtime, The Full Monty...
The Regis and Kelly arrangement was really strange.
"I'll cut you, Tracee Beazer!!!!
...Just kidding. I'd never cut anyone." -Tina Maddigan, 9/30/06, WS stage door

I'm thinking about legally changing my name to Lizzie Curry...
I agree...are they going to do the same thing with "Don't Walk Away" in terms of inserting Kerry?
Listened to it on the radio since I'm at work, but it didn't sound too bad and I thought Cheyenne and Kerry came off well during the interviews. Loved it when they correct Regis' bad or non-existent research...love it when people correct Larry King too.
DVR'd it and have tomorrow's Early Show set as well. Heard through the grapevine that "Pocket Square" may be there.
