Do you agree? Anything missed?
Personally, I really loved the opening of Ragtime and You Can't Stop The Beat from Hairspray. Also, Anything Goes with Patti.
I dont agreee with many of those 9. The spring awakening performance was bland and off. I can't stand fantasias's voice so i don't agree with that one either and the Millie number was great but definitely not top 9 in my opinion. I would replace Bernadette's number with Patti Lupone's everythings coming up roses. Now THAT was an all time best.
I would also include, Lion King's performance, Ragtime and Patti Lupone's A new Argentina performance.
"Rather than choosing one and stirring up any controversy, we’d rather let you decide for yourself."
I thought they chose Bernadette's by choosing to feature the video of hers. Letting us decide for ourselves should have meant featuring all videos or no videos.
I also think that "A New Argentina" absolutely belongs on this list.
I agree with some...Bernadette is just awful though. I still give her big props for having the guts to be on a stage singing a song she can't really sing every night.
I think the Next to Normal performance is up there as one of the best.
Any list that doesn't include Grand Hotel is immediately suspect.
Anything Goes is a better showcase for Foster and the magic of tap than Forget About the Boy. Heck, I'd even mashup the Foster and Lupone performances.
Spring Awakening was not a great performance - the author seemed more entranced by some self-believed significance of the show and cast.
Since Applause was the first Tony performance I recall seeing live - I'd have to include it. Also, in my opinion, it's one of best performances.

This.
Well said, Madbrian! Well said!
