You mean you're asking us to pick just one?

Jim Norton.
The others were completely forgettable.
(with the exception of Ciaran Hinds' monologue on hell, but to that I credit the writing)

Posted: 12/11/07 at 11:29amJim Norton. I sat front row on the aisle right in front of his chair. Just looking at his eyes was eerie.

I sat in that same seat tonight too. He was so incredible--the whole cast was great.

Posted: 12/12/07 at 12:25amCan't pick one. I will say Sean Mahon was the "weak" link, if you had to pick one. He was fine, but everyone else raised the bar ridiculously high, so hard to say.

Posted: 12/24/07 at 12:30amI love it at the end of the play when Jim Norton sweetly calls his brother an "alkyholic." Updated On: 12/24/07 at 12:30 AM

Posted: 12/24/07 at 6:38amI loved the interplay between Hinds (brilliantly over the top) and Morse (hauntingly restrained).

Norton, with Morse and Hill not far behind.
The vision of Norton eating the cereal keeps popping into my head !

I have to say David Morse
In the 2nd act, it's like there are 2 plays going on: Jim Norton, Conleth Hill and Sean Mahon -- having their 'happy' Christmas Eve / experience, oblivious to the darker story -- and David Morse in a completely different place, emotionally. (And Ciaran Hinds moving smoothly between both worlds)
Every review that says how much heart the show has -- that's all coming from Morse. Everyone else is having a grand time supplying the laughs, playing with lines that are witty and clever. 'Sharky' provides all the pathos in the entire show, MUCH of it silently (since Sharky has relatively few lines in the 2nd act), and Morse carries that emotional weight all by himself
I think it's a stunning piece of work
(Don't misunderstand -- I think all 5 of them do an absolutely amazing job. There isn't a mis-step in the casting or ANY of the performances. Everyone is EXACTLY right for their part. But if I have to pick one...)

Posted: 2/13/08 at 6:54pmI agree with those who say Norton. I didn't particularly care for the play itself, but Norton was excellent.
