I rushed yesterday and my friend got there around 4:30 to save our spot. She ended up being first in line. By 5:30 there were well over 20 people in line. Our seats were Balcony Row F and I had an aisle seat. My seat was perfect! There were no obstructed views. I had a full on complete view of the stage and everything that happened. Definitely worth the $41.50.
And I'll say...I'm very critical, but I really enjoyed the show. I'm in the minority, but I found it charming, entertaining, catchy, and very enjoyable. The cast is great...Bebe is my least favorite though. Not because she's necessarily bad, but because she doesn't do much! They need to give her more to do. They set up her "dance" number to be this big show stopper and it just falls flat.
Krysta Rodriguez was my favorite. She definitely shines in a show with a cast where it is definitely hard to stick out since everyone is so great in their roles.
And I liked the score and found a lot of the songs memorable. I'm still humming Lucas and Wednesday's duet in my head.
Of course, there are things that need work. The book/story needs a little tightening and they could definitely amp up the role of Morticia. And I just didn't like the closing number at all. But, from a production standpoint the show ran very smoothly.
I'm excited to go back and see this again after it opens.
"Somethin's comin', I don't know what it is but it is gonna be great!"
