OK. So I saw "The Addams Family" in previews before it opened and Krysta Rodriguez (Wednesday) never had braids during the show. She started the show with her new short hair and they (the family, etc.) never mentioned it.
There is a video up on Broadway.com (Spotlight on The Addams Family) and you can clearly see Wednesday with Braids in the opening number and in the scene when she is asking her family to be normal.
Did they add her braids in for the show? When does she cut them off?

I haven't seen the show, but don't they cut them off in the opening number?
Seems like I read that, at least in Chicago, the start of the show began with Wednesday's birthday or something similar and she has her braids cut off.
last time I saw it, they cut out the braids and never mentioned them at all. When they had the other opening, it was part of the song for her to cut them off.

I believe during previews there was a coming of age ceremony where Wednesday got her braids chopped off but it was taken out for some reason.

When I saw it in Chicago, if I'm remembering correctly I think she had braids for the first few numbers of Act I, but later chopped her hair off as an act of rebellion.
In Chicago, Grandma cut Wednesday's braid's off in the opening number: "Clandango".
It was a neat effect, and she had the bob haircut from then on.
