The Apple Tree Box Office

Do you think the box office numbers are going to get better? They are pretty low and the reviews weren't great.

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

See it in 2 weeks (TDF) so I do not feel I overpaid

Will let you know. Saw the original & no it will in no way compare but it should prove interesting

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

Considering that it's a Roundabout show, the subscriber base will drive the box office up.

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

gustof, IIRC it is scheduled to run through March 11th.

I haven't seen it yet but I'm making time this week to go up there and buy tickets. Has anyone sat in the very last row of the mezz (the $36.25 seats)? How is the view from up there? Would it be worth it to pay a little more to sit a few rows closer, or is the whole mezz pretty much the same in quality?

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

It is produced by a non-for-profit theatre company. Box office numbers are irrelevant. The reason that the box office was low this week is probably due to the fact that it opens on Thursday, which means a lot of comps for press and the like.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

The last row of the mezzanine is not a good place to sit in Studio 54. It's really far away, and very difficult to see much of anything.

The whole mezzanine is a danger zone for taller theatregoers like myself at Studio 54. Ick.

I would recommend getting something closer.

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

At last Saturday's matinee, the mezz was about half empty. Folks from the back moved up. I was in 4th row mezz all the way on the side, via TKTS, and I could see everything fine.

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

hopefully it won't. This production needs to go away.

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

yeah...um no it doesn't

but yeah I went Sunday afternoon and same story Mezz was about half empty and people moved up. i think that the view from up in Mezz was fine and I got everything but I rushed it and sat in HH 1 and had an AWESOME view!

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

Why in the world would you say "it needs to go away?" I mean, I'm no fan but why would you say that?

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

Thanks for the seating info everyone. Maybe I'll just buy the cheap seats and hope I get lucky and am able to move up, lol.

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

I saw her on the View today and wasn't effect at all. It was just kinda of boring? Maybe it's the score? The song? Her performance? But it didn't make me want to go see this.

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

only if they gave the 26.25 back after the show.

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

i think they did a great job and it deserves to do well. so what if it's not the best thing out there. i missed her on the view... which song was it that she did?

re: The Apple Tree Box Office

same thing she always does "Popular redeaux"

it can do well...... just far.. far.. FAR away where people don't have to be subjected to it.

and for the record, someone who worships Cheno JUST admitted that the show is "not the best thing out there".

re: The Apple Tree Box Office
