When I said Broadway themed I was thinking more along the lines of the cakes you see that are used to celebrate X number of performances for a Broadway show or a major milestone or an opening night. The kinds of cakes that you see in Broadway photo ops.
By the way, I got this off the website for Charm City Cakes the bakery that on Ace Of Cakes on Food Network.

Geoff probably made it.

Chef Duff made the cake.
It was made for the opening night of the Avenue Q National Tour in Baltimore.

Duh. Thanks for pointing out that the answer was already in a previous post.
I've seen a few eps of Ace of Cakes - the stuff they make is pretty amazing. I can't imagine how much those specialty cakes must cost.

Posted: 4/3/08 at 2:40pmI watched the episode of the show that this was on. Sooo funny! The cake was amazing and the puppets came into the shop and caused some drama! lol. Really fun to watch.

My favorite Broadway cake, also from Charm City Cakes:

(I don't know how to post pictures.)
I have already informed my boyfriend that this will be our wedding cake. He was okay with it.

Actually, the whole thing, set and all, was the cake. And it was all completely edible except for a few small wires to make a tree.

Posted: 4/3/08 at 5:09pmIt is definitely all cake. My Boss' daughter was one of the folks working on it...trust me, we hear all the in's and out's whether we want to or not. I think he has even stopped referring to her by her real name and calls her Ace of Cakes. Each week is a full recap over the phone!

Posted: 4/3/08 at 5:15pmNice cake, idinaismyidol! I think it was my 21st or 22nd birthday, and my parents got me a cake that was a recreation of a Miss Saigon Playbill cover...they surreptiously grabbed it from my collection and had it recreated with Pryce and Salonga's autographs on it too. I wish I had a scanner right now to post it. It was awesome. I didn't want to cut it. And the cake was red velvet!

Not Broadway but I had a Red Dwarf cake for my 22nd birthday.
It was either going to be that or Slipper and the Rose
