In your opinion, what are some of the best roles in Musical Theatre?

I'd say Mama Rose is somewhere near, if not at the top of my list.

(PS: I searched the board for this thread and couldn't find one.)

Lola in Kinky Boots tops my list.

There's so much range in the role. I left the show knowing Billy Porter had that Tony on lock.

Also at the top are: Evita, Kim in Miss Saigon, and Sweeney.

Rose, Miss Adelaide and Mrs. Lovett are probably the best written roles for women

Lerner & Loewe have some great ones: Eliza and Guenevere for women, Higgins and Arthur for men. And there are some good roles in "Gigi," too. Especially among the supporting cast. (I think I'd rather play one of the older characters in "Gigi" than one of the younger ones. The older ones seem to have the most fun.
