It's iconic enough that it's still funny. People are still dressing up in costumes from shows that closed years ago.

The whole meme concept of “gay Halloween” is to go as something that is culturally esoteric or niche. This look had its zeitgeist moment last year, and so this year it does seem a bit passé. However, give it a few years and it will fall into the category of costumes that the culturally savvy gays would recognize and enjoy while puzzling those not “in the know”
Also, Keanu and Alex being game to pull this kind of stunt as an extension of the Jaime Lloyd direction-as-meme trend is absolutely chef’s kiss
