The Book of Mormon Rear Mezz or SRO?

Which is the better option for a group of 8-10 people who want to see The Book of Mormon? Apply for group tickets and sit in rear mezz or just go in and try for SRO hoping we all get it?

I do not know about Orchestra but sitting in the front mezz is so cramped it is like sitting in a narrow cardboard box. Cannot imagine the rear being any better.

I doubt with 8 - 10 people, standing room is even an option unless your group is the first in line. I'd play it safe and buy rear mezz.

If you're all first in line for standing room, you should be okay. There are about 27 slots for standing room.

The rear mezz isn't a bad option, though.

I've done both. The leg room/comfort level of the rear mezz is atrocious, but other than that, the views are pretty equivalent.

I don't remember having a comfort problem in the rear mezz, but I'm 5' 1". Unless your entire group is around my height, this is a good point.

Exactly.

If for some reason you need to see this show, go for the rear mezzanine and save some coin.

Wow, I had no idea you hated Book of Mormon so much!

"i have only done SRO for BOM. Great view."

It's also a better view than the rear orchestra. I've sat there, too.

The first time I saw BoM on tour was also the first time in about 5 performances that I hadn't seen it from standing room. It felt so confining!

To N2

Not everyone likes every show. Maybe it was the unbelievable hype re BOM much like Fun Home or AAIP. Will see the latter 2 before the Tonys to judge

Why was everyone so itching for Honeymoon to close? Why the about vicious hatred for Dr Z? Let us just say we were disappointed. Why did people on the board call Rocky a turd? Why did many on the board liken Memphis to a piece of dog excrement & proclaim it was D.O.A.? They had to eat a large order of crow when it not only got favorable reviews but went on to win the Tony for Best Musical Truth be told we liked Rocky & Honeymoon a hell of a lot more than BOM. Woman in front of us at BOM said she was a shrink. She hated it and said she had to find out why her son liked it. Many people did not like it but they are in the minority

Let us just say we did not care for it and it was not our cup of tea.

Pretty sure N2N comment was sarcasm. We all know how much you hated it.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Hey everyone! Thanks for your help! I have seen TBOM already and I really enjoyed it. All my friends are huge South Park fans and love comedy in general and I already know this is up their alley. I appreciate your opinions about the show but I'm looking for seating opinions. Sorry if that wasn't clear in the opening post. If we do SRO I will make sure we get there 2.5 hours before showtime. But please continue posting experiences you've had with seating so I could use it as an argument to my friends to go one way or the other!

I would get there 3 hours before showtime and check if there's a line first (it can happen). Good luck and have fun!
